ABOUT ME
My full name is Genaro Suárez Castro. I am an astronomer originally from Susticacán, Zacatecas, Mexico, and working as a postdoctoral fellow in the Brown Dwarfs in New York City (BDNYC) research group at the Department of Astrophysics, American Museum of Natural History in New York. Before moving to NYC, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Western Ontario in London, ON, Canada. I earned my Ph.D. in Astrophysics and Master in Astrophysics at the Institute of Astronomy, UNAM in Ensenada, BC, Mexico. I obtained my Bachelor's in Physics at the Unidad Académica de FÃsica, Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas in Zacatecas, Mexico.

I love learning about the cosmos, specifically, the physics and chemistry of brown dwarf and planetary atmospheres. Similarly, I like investigating the brown dwarf and star formation process through studies of the (sub)stellar initial mass function. When not researching, I like watching/playing sports, hanging out with family and friends, and working out. I also really enjoy science communication.
